Current Humanities Center Hours of Operation: 9:00am - 5:00pm

The Division of Humanities now currently operates the Humanities Tutoring and Testing Center ( HC for short and formerly known as the History Help Center) located in Wooten Hall, Room# 220. The Center is staffed by upperlevel students in History and has three main functions:

Provide tutoring to students currently enrolled in History courses at UNT. Provide a place for Humanities students to take Professor approved make-up examinations. Provide staff for proctoring examinations when instructors are absent during those examinations.

Come by WH#220 on Wednesdays from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Our Subject Librarian Is In — No Appointment Needed! 

Doug Campbell - the Humanities, Journalism & Social Sciences Subject Librarian - will be hosting these weekly drop-in hours in the Humanities Center. Stop by to ask questions, find the right resources, and get the support you need to succeed.

In the Humanities Center you can:

  • Access HIST 2610, 2620, 1050 e-book copies of your textbooks.
  • Access some physical copies of your History textbooks. Please email or ask an employee if we have a copy of the book you need.
  • Access our Help Center Library collections. This catalog is undergoing maintenance. Please email or ask an employee if we have a copy of the book you need.
  • Use the computers to access Humanities related information on Canvas, access your online course resources, take your online quizzes or finish homework, conduct research for an assignment, or print history content.
  • Study in the Humanities Center, especially regarding intro level History courses, and receive assistance with any questions that arise.
  • We only assist with History tutoring at the moment. All tutors can assist with HIST 2610 & 2620 via drop-in hours.
    • If you would like more formal tutoring on a specific concept or course, please email to make an appointment and allow our tutors to prepare to assist you.




**Please Note: To check out a library book for use while inside the Humanities Center, you will need a valid Government ID. To take a make-up exam, you will need a STUDENT ID.**

Currently the HC staff’s areas of expertise include (but are not limited to):

  • Early & Modern America
  • Social Movements
  • World History
  • World War II
  • Military History 

To schedule an appointment to take a make-up exam, contact your instructor first so they can provide the materials to make-up your exam. Next, walk-in anytime during open hours or email HistoryHelpCenter@unt.edu at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a time. To use our textbooks, library books, and computers, or to receive study help you can walk in anytime Monday-Friday during our operating hours.

If you are an instructor scheduling a make-up exam for your students, you must complete and submit the Make-up and Proctor Request Form and test materials either in-person to WH#220 or via email HistoryHelpCenter@unt.edu.

The Humanities Center is open during Finals Week.
