Dr. D. Harland Hagler passed away on December 1, 2023. Before his retirement in 2017, he was a faculty member in the Department of History for 51 years. Dr. Hagler was a dedicated colleague who served as associate chair for many years, and he taught classes about U.S. history and Southern history in addition to being the first UNT faculty member to teach a course dedicated to African American history.
